As you read this we will be at Camp Sizzle, and SIZZLE is what we do! Aside from the heat, there will be lots of laughter and shouts of praise. We are taking 69 kids!! That would not be possible without the counselors/workers who stepped forward to help out. Going with us for our 5th year to Camp Sizzle in Leakey is: Bro Don and Sue Higginbotham, Evelyn Rossow, Sue Gustin, Jake & Tricia Edwards, Matt, Angie, Jess & Jake Hoermann, Ami Sultemeier, J.D. & Taylor Detterman, Wayne Utley, Susan Tubbs, Richard Gray, Derek Spence, Angela Hayward and myself.
Our theme this year is: GOD's Word; Learn It, Love It, Live It! I ask that you pray for all the children He has sent to us and all the counselors who will guide them. I pray that everyone comes back knowing God's word more intimately, and ready to lead and live the life He expects of us.
Did you see Doug Rolando, the Awana missionary, on the 13th? Those of us who stayed after the service and had lunch and a meeting with him were all very excited to see the program and what it could mean to our church. Over and over we hear how generations continue to drop out on church attendance. Awanas is a great way to engage children, youth and families with Scripture. If the children are having a blast,(and they will), the parents will be more inclined to be involved themselves. This fabulous ministry opportunity needs YOUR help to get off the ground.
